If your business or individual wants to be certified you must complete the Texas A&M Certification, the W9 Application and pay the fee to the Texas A&M Referee/Referee School. IRS Publication 463, Sports Agent Certification Requirements, provides instructions for a sports agent and an instructor preparing a complete W9 and supporting documents for a sports agent to assist them in obtaining a W-9 from the IRS. Texas Association of Sports Administrators Sports Services and Exhibitions Certification (SPA): This is a certification that is provided by the Texas Association of Sports Administrators (TASK) for sports activities conducted by a company or individuals in various sports including but not limited to: (1) Soccer (including Futsal) (2) Tennis (3) Golf (including Professional Golf at the professional level) (4) Archery (including field shooting) The TASK has established the Sport Services and Exhibitions W-9 exam that is required by the IRS when conducting sports activities. The TASK will be sending you information about the exam. You will need to take two assessments within 90 days from the date of your filing if you are an employee of a company that operates sports activities as a part of their business.
